The 500 Series release beacon provides the means by which scientific, survey or operational equipment can be deployed or reliably retrieved from its anchored seabed mooring.
Its positive drive-off mechanism ensures a reliable mechanical release in high bio-fouling environments.
The 1300A Series Micro Beacon is an evolution of the popular 300 Series that has been designed to add extra versatility to the Micro Beacon range.
Ideal for use in shallow water environments, and operation in confined space.
As with its predecessor, the 1300A Series Micro Beacon has an external connector that allows it to operate from a ROV 24V power supply and for channel selection via a USB adaptor cable.
The 1200A Series Micro Beacon is ideal for use in shallow water environments, operation in a confined space or for applications not requiring a high level of power output.
The beacon has a Micro USB interface protected by a rugged waterproof cap that allows channel selection and battery recharging without opening the housing.
1100 Series Mini Beacons incorporate Applied Acoustics’ proprietary Sigma acoustic protocols, proven for use with AAE’s USBL tracking systems, other manufacturers’ USBL systems operating with wide bandwidth transmissions, as well as those using ‘narrow band’ tone signalling.
With an industry standard 5-pin connector, the beacons are quick and easy to configure using the 1082 Smart Switch or 1083 Multi-Charger that also activate and monitor the charging of the battery pack.
The 1082 Smart Switch is a pocket-sized solution to quick and easy 1000 Series beacon configuration, fast charge activation and fast charge monitoring.
Easy to operate with 4 buttons and a backlit display, the 1082 Smart Switch also features compatible beacon trickle charge and responder test functionality.
UNDERWATER TECHNOLOGY
The 106G is an additional GPS receiver designed to survive immersion that complements the operation of a nearby standard subsea positioning beacon.
This arrangement is suited to coastal construction tasks where submersible vehicles may periodically break the surface.
Whilst submerged, positioning data is provided by a standard positioning beacon but once the vehicle breaks the surface the 106G takes over to provide the information required, typically cabled to the vessel based positioning system via the vehicle umbilical system.
