The general purpose hydrographic software suite from EIVA is sub-divided into an online part, used for data-acquisition, navigation, QC etc. and an offline processing component for data editing, cleaning, processing and reporting.
The 701 Digital Link (701-DL) providesan interface between a computer running EdgeTech’s Discover sonar acquisition software and an EdgeTech sonar system (tow vehicle, sonar head). The 701-DL is self-contained, with all interface and power supply electronics housed within. Communication between the computer and the 701-DL is an Ethernet LAN connection using TCP/IP protocols. The data and control interface between the 701-DL and the sonar system is via TCP/IP protocols over the ADSL link using the 701-DL Ethernet connection and ADSL modem. A Sync Trigger port provides an interface with an external TTL trigger. EdgeTech Discover software interfaces with the 701-DL, monitors and controlsthe attached system, and displays and records acquired sonar and sensor data. The 701-DL fits a 19-inch rack and is delivered mounted independently in a rugged 2U-SKB case or mounted with an EdgeTech-provided computer in a rugged 6U case.
The STARMUX III contains both standard and proprietary hardware.
At times, EdgeTech may change the standard components due to their availability or performance improvements. Although the component manufacturers—along with their models and styles—may change from unit to unit, replacement parts will generally be interchangeable.
The PACS, Portable Acoustic Command System is a highly versatile deck unit that can be used to control and range on EdgeTech’s (formerly ORE Offshore) low frequency (LF) or medium frequency (MF) acoustic releases and transponders.
The rugged, lightweight unit provides a highly intuitive user interface that allows you to go right to work, spending your valuable time in the field, not in training. The system is powered by an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery or A/C power.
The PACS works with all standard EdgeTech acoustic transponding releases. See below for our acoustic transponding release products.
The 8242XS Acoustic Release Transponder is a field-proven, reliable, and versatile mooring instrument.
The 8242XS is made entirely of Nickel Aluminum Bronze alloy with titanium closure hardware for very long deployments with no corrosion. Acoustic status reply includes tilt and release state.
Command structure proven in the toughest acoustic environments anywhere. Many of these releases are over 15 years old and still in use.
TRI-FREQUENCY / MOTION TOLERANT SIDE SCAN SONAR SYSTEM
The next generation 4205 is a versatile side scan sonar system that can be configured for almost any survey application from shallow to deep water operations. The 4205 utilizes EdgeTech’s Full Spectrum® CHIRP technology to provide crisp, high resolution imagery at ranges up to 50% greater than non-CHIRP systems; thus allowing customers to cover larger areas and save money spent on costly surveys. In addition to the high-resolution imagery that EdgeTech is known for, the 4205 comes with a number of new features which makes the system even more flexible and powerful in offshore operations.
The 4205 is available in either a tri-frequency side scan sonar configuration or motion tolerant and multi-pulse configuration. The tri-frequency version allows surveyors the option to operate any two frequencies simultaneously from the tri-frequency system. Long range operations for example can be achieved with a selection of 230/540 kHz combination. Then, on-demand the system can be changed to a 540/850kHz system for an even higher resolution survey.
The 4205 motion tolerant configuration with multi-pulse provides surveyors the ability to operate either at faster survey speeds or in more adverse weather conditions while still obtaining high quality underwater imagery. Additionally, this configuration can be operated in a single pulse high-resolution mode for those operations that require an even more finite view of the seafloor.
The 4200 Series is a versatile side scan sonar system that can be configured for almost any survey application from shallow to deep water operations.
The 4200 utilizes EdgeTech’s Full Spectrum® CHIRP technology to provide crisp, high resolution imagery at ranges up to 50% greater than non-CHIRP systems; thus allowing customers to cover larger areas and save money spent on costly surveys.
