The Tool Tec 18in Super Grinder is primarily suited to subsea steel cutting operations, however, can also be configured for use as a rotating cleaning tool. The tools drive hub has been designed such that it can interface with a range of cutting discs or cleaning heads such as a nylon brush or flail. Fitted as standard with an ROV D-type handle suitable for both parallel and interlocking manipulator jaws.
Compact Hydarulic Grinder For ROV or Diver Operations
The Manipulator Mounted Cutter comes with a 14” or 16” Tungsten Carbide saw blade. The tool is designed for mounting onto a Rigmaster manipulator using the wrist bolts for quick installation. During cutting operations, the Jaws are used to secure the ROV to the cut and once secure the motor starts by spinning the blade before actuating a hydraulic cylinder which pushes the blade through the cut. Although the cutter has an optimum input of 50L/Min it can cut as low as 15L/min meaning it is also an ideal tool for smaller work class systems on IRM projects.
The 10” Rotary Cutter uses aluminium jaws to securely clamp on to various structures and cut material from a minimum of 1” and up to a maximum of 11” in diameter. The jaws are actuated by two hydraulic rams. These ensure that the cutter clamps onto and centralises the material being cut. The main body of the cutter is made from aluminium. The blade is moved forward and backwards on a rail system. The blade itself is stainless steel with tungsten carbide tips. Allowing it to cut ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as high-tensile steels. The speed at which the blade moves forward and backwards is controlled with flow control valves. Relief valves are used to relieve pressure when pushing the blade into the cut material.
