Subsea Technology & Rentals Ltd (STR); global specialists in the design, production and rental of advanced subsea technology for the offshore energy industry are pleased to announce the addition of SMT’s Light Weight Taut Wire to their equipment sales and rental inventory. STR have signed an exclusive sales agency agreement to promote and sell SMT Taut Wire product globally.

Key benefits of this environmentally friendly system include, its vertical height when stowed, the very small hydraulic power pack used to raise and lower the boom arm into position and the fact that only three small cables are required for installation into the vessel’s Dynamic Positioning system (plus two power cables between the power supplies and taut wire). Compared to other systems on the market these benefits significantly reduce installation time and cost, footprint on deck and shipping costs.

Neil Jackson, Sales and Operations Manager at STR said: “As worldwide providers of specialist marine equipment we are always looking to invest in new, well designed products like the SMT Taut Wire. Positive feedback from our customers suggests they’re already reaping the benefits this cost effective, market leading product has to offer.

Subsea Technology & Rentals Ltd (STR), a specialist in the design, production and rental of advanced subsea technology who are based in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth held an appeal amongst its workforce to donate to the Great Yarmouth Salvation Army ‘Toys and Tins Appeal’.

Ka Henney-Cant, Sales and Business Development Executive, STR said, “STR have decided this year, rather than buying Christmas Gifts for its clients to thank them for their valued business, that we would give back to the local community and donate the money we would have spent on client gifts to the Great Yarmouth Salvation Army for its foodbank to feed people over the festive time. Along with the organisations donation which was used to buy food and toys, the team at STR donated clothing for all ages.

Great Yarmouth has been affected by the industry recession and for those with families to provide for, Christmas can be a difficult time. We hope that our donations can make a difference to those affected and brighten the festive period to those who might otherwise go without at Christmas”

Following two weeks of donations from our team and their families, STR decorated one of its Trucks and delivered the gifts to the Salvation Army on Friday 15th December.
