The Underwater Hydraulic Cutter (UHC 38) is a hydraulic, double acting, anvil cutter suitable for cutting wire rope, cables and hoses, etc, up to a maximum size of Ø38mm.
The target material is placed in the open jaw of the cutter. Hydraulic pressure supplied from a separate source, such as a ROV or deck mounted power pack, capable of supplying pressure up to 700 bar and a flow of 0.5 lpm is then applied to complete the cutting operation.
