The iWAND is a hand held acoustic transponder test and configuration device developed for use with Sonardyne’s 6G® product range.
Being small, rugged and splash proof means the iWAND is ideal for setting up equipment in the workshop, on the back deck of a ship, or on ROVs and subsea structures before they are deployed.
The simple to use interface and sunlight readable display makes it easy to test, gather and download configurations.
HIGH PRECISION SUBSEA POSITIONING SYSTEM
Fusion 6G® continues to be the world’s most popular Long BaseLine (LBL) acoustic positioning system by providing the most accurate method for installing subsea structures, tracking ROVs and conducting acoustic metrology.
The system operates by measuring acoustic ranges to a seabed array of transponders. The ranges are then passed through a least squares computation to precisely trilaterate a position.
As the system utilises a fixed seabed array, the system precision remains the same regardless of water depth.
USBL/LBL Transponder and Modem
The Type 8300 Mini is the smallest in the range of Compatt 6 transponders. The design offers the user a lightweight unit with the same acoustic output power as a standard sized unit, but without the integrated sensor system.
The mechanical design is based on the field proven Compatt 5. Its size is perfectly suited to deep water vehicle navigation and telemetry applications.
LBL Transceiver and USBL Responder
ROVNav 6 is a 6G®and 6+ ranging and telemetry Long BaseLine (LBL) and telemetry transceiver specifically designed for installation on work class ROVs.
Its high power output and Sonardyne Wideband®2 signal processing offers improved range and acoustic performance in challenging conditions such as on noisy vehicles or in multipath environments.
LBL and Telemetry Transceiver System
Dunker 6 is a 6G® and 6+ Sonardyne Wideband®2 Long BaseLine (LBL) and telemetry transceiver specifically designed for vessel deployment.
The super duplex stainless steel housing with shock and vibration isolated electronics makes for an extremely rugged dunking system.
Its high power output and Sonardyne Wideband®2 signal processing offers improved operating range and acoustic performance in challenging conditions such as when deployed from noisy vessels or in multipath environments.
Autonomous Monitoring Transponder (AMT)
The Type 8305 AMT is a long-endurance Compatt 6 based transponder extensively used for subsea survey tasks, and is capable of autonomously acquiring acoustic ranges and sensor data without surface control.
The data is time-stamped and logged internally for recovery via the integrated high-speed acoustic telemetry modem. This autonomy allows measurements to be made over a long period of time without requiring a surface vessel or ROV to command the process.
This enables new applications that save vessel and survey time so reducing cost and risk.
USBL/LBL Transponder and Modem
The Compatt 6 transponder is fully compatible with all 6G® equipment and Sonardyne’s latest 6G LBL and USBL systems.
Compatt 6 offers significant time saving using faster and more robust Sonardyne Wideband®2 acoustic ranging and telemetry protocols.
This makes any system operating with Compatt 6 significantly easier to operate therefore de-risking operations, reducing vessel time and reducing training requirements for offshore personnel.
